Available surface finishes and treatment options for Home Automation.
The choice of finish depends on the end application. For painted furniture, use Sanded or Pre-Primed finish. For visible surfaces, Pre-Laminated or Veneer Faced offers the best aesthetics. For wet areas, always specify BWR/BWP Treated finish regardless of the surface finish chosen.
Plan and install conduit wiring during civil stage — even if automation is added later
Specify automation system before electrical layout — separate conduits needed
Use a single hub / ecosystem for all devices where possible
Do not mix incompatible ecosystems — Zigbee and Z-Wave devices do not cross-talk without a hub
Do not skip structured cabling for high-end systems — Wi-Fi only is unreliable
Do not close walls without pulling spare conduits for future upgrades
Always pull at least 2–3 spare empty conduits in every room during construction — the cost is negligible but future upgrade cost savings are enormous.
